Klaus Schmierer explains the concept behind CCSVI proposed by Paolo Zamboni in 2009. He looks at the evidence that CCSVI exists as a pathophysiological mechanism for MS and asks whether the evidence adds up in favour of CCSVI or not.

It has been over 4 months since I had a balloon angioplasty. I was found to have stenosis at the valve in both left and right jugular veins. This is an update on where things are at as at 21 July 2010. I have had renarrowing in both veins as was shown on MRV and a second angioplasty 13th July. I continue to stay relapse free and my MS symtoms are extremely mild (I suspect the residual is due to nerve damage from past attacks).

I have been asked several times what I thought about CCSVI and the Liberation Procedure as it relates to MS. Initially I was thinking the procedure was the lynchpin for those who suffer from MS. Now, after more and more research I am viewing it with a skeptical eye and the word “scam” comes to mind as it relates to CCSVI.
