Our hard-working snowmaking crew has been at it day and night, burying Black Snake, Lower Rumrunner, and the Practice Slope. Snowmaking is now complete on Lower Rumrunner. Our groomers will now take over, pushing out all the snowmaking whales. We plan to have Lower Rumrunner open in the next couple of days. We will continue snowmaking operations on the Practice Slope and Lower Black Snake. We plan to have these two trails open this weekend. Our snowmakers will be moving to Morse Mountain tomorrow, so that we can get some beginner terrain open in the near future. We will be focusing our efforts on Sir Henry’s, the Village “White” near the gazebo, Burton Riglet Park, and the Magic Learning Trail. We plan to have beginner terrain by December 12th. We received an inch of new snow in the past 24 hours, 7 inches in the past 48 hours, and 19 inches in the past 6 days! This new snow has really made a big difference! Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 12 to 36 inches. Currently, it is partly cloudy and 18 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast calls for snow showers, 2 to 4 inches of accumulation possible, breezy, and a high of 24 degrees at the base and 20 degrees at higher elevations. Temperatures will be falling throughout the day. Bundle up and enjoy the fantastic conditions! Four trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Upper Rumrunner, Crossover, and Lower Exhibition, for a total of 24 acres of freshly groomed terrain.
