The snowstorm yesterday really freshened things up! We received an inch of new snow last night, 7 inches in the past 2 days, and 19 inches in the past 6 days. Ski Patrol has been out opening more trails this morning. They just dropped the ropes on Thomke’s Express, Full Nelson, Jolly Rodger, Lower Black Bear, and Pipeline Express. Pipeline Express is open from Lower Pipeline down to Jolly Rodger. Full Nelson is accessible from Pipeline Escape with a short hike up Jolly Rodger. The snow quality is wonderful, with packed powder and powder conditions! It’s a gorgeous day with beautiful sunny skies. Currently, it is 15 degrees at the summit of Sterling with light winds. We have the Sterling Lift operating with 18 trails open for intermediates and experts only at this time. We are presently making snow on Black Snake and Lower Rumrunner. Our snowmaking operations will be moving to Morse Mountain after today. Colder temperatures are on their way starting Thursday, and it looks they we will be hanging around for quite a few days. Our snowmakers are ready to take full advantage! 6 trails have been groomed for today, including Smugglers’ Alley, Thomke’s, Crossover, Upper Rumrunner, Lower Exhibition, and Treasure for a total of 35 acres of freshly groomed terrain.
